Abstract

The article examines the features of management decision-making in conflict situations.Issues of activity efficiency directly related to high-quality preparation and implementation of management decisions in conflict situations come to the fore.

It is known that the future is being formed today. Therefore, underestimating the quality of management decision-making in a conflict situation will result in significant losses in the future due to the adoption and implementation of inadequate management decisions.

Conflict is understood as the interaction of parties (people) who believe that their goals are incompatible (that is, they cannot be achieved at the same time). In this definition, the following aspects are fundamentally important: first, the conflict involves interaction, that is, the action of one side and the counteraction (in response) of the other; secondly, the perception of each other's goals as incompatible (in fact, such a perception may be caused by the distortion of information available to the parties about each other, while the goal of the parties may be compatible). It is the incompatibility of goals that turns the interaction of the parties into a conflict, the difference of interests in itself does not lead to the emergence of a conflict, because with skillful analysis and settlement of the conflict, the parties can realize their interests on a mutually beneficial basis. Conflicts occur at different levels (intrapersonal and interpersonal, group, etc.), in various spheres of human activity (economic, social, political, legal, environmental, etc.), they are different in scale (local, national, regional, international). The subject of conflict can be material goods (resources), procedural issues ( decision-making rules, laws and rules of conduct), as well as interpersonal factors. In the structure of each conflict, the following main elements can be named: – parties (main participants) and other participants; - the subject of the conflict (the essence of the dispute); - an idea of the situation (perception); - motives (goals) of the parties; – actions (to achieve the set goal). The main methods of conflict resolution are aimed at transforming or eliminating one or more elements of the conflict. Thus, one of the parties may make attempts to destroy the opponent physically, the parties may, as a result of exchanging information or receiving additional information from other sources, change their perception of the situation and their own motives for behavior, the subject of the conflict may lose relevance or cease to exist, a "third party" is a participant in the conflict may force the parties to terminate the interaction
