ASSESSMENT OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE REGION ACCORDING TO SOCIO-ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC CRITERIA
Abstract
Social responsibility should be considered through the prism of the concept of sustainable development, which involves harmonious consideration of the interests of social, economic and environmental components, aimed at the sustainable development of human civilization.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the methodical approach and conduct an assessment of the level of social responsibility on the example of a separate region (Volyn region). Taking into account the complexity of social responsibility, it is proposed to assess its level for a separate region based on a system of indicators grouped by three criteria: economic component, social component and environmental component. Social responsibility at the regional level is a complex, important and complex concept, which should be understood through the prism of the activities of regional authorities, businesses and the population, aimed at defending their interests in the social, environmental and economic spheres in order to maximize the overall synergistic effect.
To ensure the comparability of assessments of the levels of social responsibility for individual components, three main relative indicators were selected, which characterize the share or percentage of the absolute indicator in the total sum of all indicators, or the share as a result of comparing the value of the indicator of the region with its corresponding value for the country as a whole. For an integral assessment of the level of social responsibility for individual components and for all components as a whole, it is proposed to use the weighted arithmetic average of the values of the indicators. It was concluded that it is necessary to intensify the efforts of regional authorities, businesses and the population to increase the levels of environmental and economic components of social responsibility, as well as to continue to ensure the growth of the level of its social component. A sound methodological approach can be used to conduct similar assessments for other regions of the country
