THE INFRASTRUCTURE FACTOR OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGIONAL INNOVATION SYSTEM

Abstract

The article noted that innovative activity provides subjects of economic activity in the regions with access to new technologies and this leads to an increase in labor productivity, profitability, and resistance to foreign economic changes. Regional development largely depends on the availability of innovative infrastructure, which facilitates the flow of innovative processes in the regions. The regions of Ukraine have their own peculiarities in socio-economic development, they need to clearly define priority innovative goals and tasks of regional development, mobilize all innovation potential and form the necessary institutional and organizational conditions for the formation of regional innovation systems.

Problems of innovative development are indicated, including Russian military aggression against Ukraine. It is shown that the 57th place of Ukraine according to the Global Innovation Index in 2022 among 132 countries, against the 49th place in 2021, is largely due to the imperfect development of infrastructure.

The structuring of the innovation infrastructure as one of the subsystems of the formation of the regional innovation system is proposed. Subsystems of the innovative infrastructure of the region were studied, specifying the need for relevant institutions.

The study empirically confirms and theoretically proves that there is a direct relationship between the development of the regional innovation system and the functioning of the innovation infrastructure.
