ASSESSMENT OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC RESILIENCE (SUSTAINABILITY) OF ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF NEGATIVE EXTERNALITIES
Abstract
The aim of the article is to assess the socio-economic resilience (sustainability) of enterprises in Ukraine in the face of negative externalities before and after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. A comparative analysis of changes in the level of profitability of all activities of enterprises and the growth rate of Ukraine's real gross domestic product in 2010-2023 showed that as a result of a full-scale war, there was a sharp decline in profitability to negative 3.2%, while the economy as a whole declined by the maximum for the analyzed period of 28.8%. It is concluded that Ukrainian enterprises, after experiencing negative externalities, in particular after the outbreak of a full-scale war, demonstrate an increase in the level of sustainability (resilience). This indicates an increase in their ability to adapt and respond in a timely manner to various types of negative externalities, in particular those caused by a full-scale war and its catastrophic consequences.
