ENTREPRENEURIAL POTENTIAL OF THE REGION: ASSESSMENT AND DIRECTIONS OF BUILDING UP
Abstract
The article substantiates the relevance of assessing and building the entrepreneurial potential of the region. A methodological approach to analysing and evaluating the entrepreneurial potential of the region has been developed. The methodology for analysing and evaluating the entrepreneurial potential of the region contains a number of stages. They are determining the purpose, object and objectives of assessing the entrepreneurial potential of the region; choosing assessment methods; choosing assessment directions; choosing a system of indicators for assessing the entrepreneurial potential of the region; comprehensive assessment of the entrepreneurial potential of the region; developing directions for building up the entrepreneurial potential of the region.
A system of indicators for assessing the entrepreneurial potential of the region is proposed. Analysis and assessment of the financial potential of the region provides for an analytical study of such components as the financial result before tax and profitability of operating activities. Analysis of the infrastructure potential of the region involves calculating such indicators as the number of business entities, the volume of products sold and the number of enterprises by type. Analysis and assessment of the innovation potential of the region provides for the study of such components as the number of employees involved in scientific research and development, the cost of performing scientific research and development, and the number of innovative industrial enterprises. To analyse and assess the labour potential of the region, it is necessary to calculate such indicators as the number of employed employees, the number of employees, the average monthly nominal salary of full-time employees, and the economic activity of the population.
Directions for building up the entrepreneurial potential of the region are proposed. The main directions of ensuring the development of entrepreneurial potential include improving the mechanisms for providing enterprises with the necessary resources; developing infrastructure elements to support small and medium-sized businesses; encouraging the population to engage in entrepreneurship.
